We have legs!


Tiny back legs just beginning to grow.



This one's legs are a little more developed already.



Still smilin' ....and poopin'....but he has legs, too. See the toes?

Mantis Monday for 3-27-06

Two of the same ceramic mantis: one unfinished and the other finished.



A long time ago, I found the unfinished ceramic mantis in a hobby store. I have always intended to paint it, but somehow I haven't yet. My parents found the painted one a few years later at a craft fair, and got it for me. Someone took the trouble to add antennas on the finished one. That's a nice touch.

These are a few of the other items I got in trade for the bird stamps. I also got a few non-insect things. And 2 more plastic mantids, but I'll save them for future Mantis Mondays.

A dung beetle, complete with a ball of dung. (plastic, of course!)

These last two look like they are mounted on bottle caps. No clue what was in the bottle, if there was one.

This little plastic orchid mantis was the object of my desire last month when I saw it on a Japanese website. (That part of the story is here if you missed it.)
